[KALIURANG]; Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia collaboration with Faculty of Law, Youngsan University Korea held an International Seminar with the theme “Immigration Policy Systems and Legal Security” which was held on Wednesday (06/07). This event was held offline and was attended by more than 150 participants, most of whom were students from Faculty of Law, Youngsan University Korea.

This international seminar, which was funded by Ministry of Education of Republic of Korea and National Research Foundation of Korea, was attended by Prof. Park Jihyun, (Youngsan University), Christopher M. Jasson, JD, LLM (Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia), Rina Shahriani, s, SH, M.Cl., Ph.D (Universitas Internasional Batam) and Assoc. Prof. Sonny Zulhada, LLB., MCL., Ph.D (International Islamic University Malaysia) and as keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, SH, M. Hum and moderator Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D. All speakers presented about immigration law policies and their implementation in various countries.

Prof. Budi Agus said that currently a more comprehensive and effective concept and model of Indonesian cyber law is needed which is urgently needed to reduce and ensure legal certainty so as to reduce legal problems related to immigration.

Head of International Seminar Team, Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph.D expressed his gratitude to Prof. Park who had come directly to Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia and was also a representative of researchers who received grants from South Korean Ministry of Education and other institutions, well-known research in Korea and also Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia can get funding so that international seminars can be held.

At the end of his speech, Dodik hope this internasional seminar could provide a comparative perspective related to the management of the immigration system in various countries, especially in the United States, Malaysia, England and Indonesia.

In this Seminar as keynote speech, among others, Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H., M. Hum. as Head of Undergraduate Program in Law as well as a Professor at Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia. Prof. Park Ji-Hyun, Ph.D. representatives from Youngsan University, Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph.D. as Secretary of International Undergraduated Program in Law, Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia and then continued by Anisa Rizky Anggalia, S.H., M.H., LL.M. from Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia, and the last one is Prof. Lee from Busan Immigration Officer. On this occasion, each speaker presented his material in the form of Intellectual Property Rights, Immigration Systems, and Personal Data Protection.

In this opportunity, Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H., M.Hum, who was present online through Zoom Meeting said that Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia really appreciated the joint implementation of this international seminar. Prof. Budi hopes this activity could take place sustainably and the involvement of students as panelists is the best experience and may be adopted in Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia.

Similarly,  Head of Undergraduate Program in Law, Secretary of International Undergraduate Program in Law, Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia also attended this international seminar online. “This international seminar is entirely funded by Youngsan University and this is the implementation of international cooperation that has been going on in harmony both between Universitas Islam Indonesia and Youngsan University.” said Dodik

The international seminar held this time presented panelists, most of whom came from dual degree program students and credit transfer from International Undergraduate Program in Law Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia at Youngsan University.

Students participants in the double degree and credit transfer program are Yuwan Zaghlul Ismail, Kurniawan Sutrisno Hadi, Veni Nur Setyaningsih, Muhammad Sulhan, and Muhammad Rhayhan Zidane.

The participants of this international seminar were dominated by foreign students, especially students from Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia. This international seminar went well and the participants took an active role in the discussion session.

 

[KALIURANG];  Faculty of Law of Universitas Islam Indonesia on 29-31 March 2022 has carried out a visitation process by Foundation For International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) from Germany. The visitation process is carried online. This event was held with the aim of accrediting 4 Study Programs at Faculty of Law of Universitas Islam Indonesia , namely Undergraduate Program in Law, Master Program in Law, Master Program in Notarial Law, and Doctoral Program in Law.

The visitation process was held with a presentation from Prof. Dr. Fathul Wahid, ST, M.Sc., Ph.D as Rector in  Universitas Islam Indonesia for first session on March 29, 2022, followed by panel interviews conducted with management program, lecturer, students, alumnae, and staff.

The visitation process which lasted for three days went smoothly. “Faculty of Law of Universitas Islam Indonesia really hopes that, with FIBAA’s accreditation, it will add to the collaboration process and prove that the quality of education at Faculty of Law of Universitas Islam Indonesia is the best quality of education and we hope that with international accreditation it can expand educational collaboration between Faculty of Law of Universitas Islam Indonesia with campuses in developed countries, especially from Germany and countries in Europe.” said Dean, Faculty of Law of Universitas Islam Indonesia, Dr. Abdul Jamil, S.H, M.H.

As for the assessors from FIBAA who were present, all of them came from university professors on the German campus, there was one from Indonesia, and one from a student from Germany. Faculty of Law of Universitas Islam Indonesia is very grateful to all parties who have supported and made this event a success.

[TAMAN SISWA]; On Tuesday (25/01), the 2022 International Mobility Program Student Release event was held successfully by the Faculty of Law, Indonesian Islamic University (FH UII). The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Abdul Jamil, S.H., M.H., Deputy Dean for Resources, Hanafi Amrani, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph.D., Head of the Law Department, Dr. Muhammad Arif Setiawan, S.H., M.H., Secretary of the Department of the Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Indonesia, Bagya Agung Prabowo, S.H., M.Hum., Ph. D., Head of the Undergraduate Law Study Program, Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, S.H, M. Hum., Secretary of the Undergraduate Law Study Program, Ari Wibowo, S.H., S.HI, M.H., Secretary of the International Law Study Program, Dodik Setiawan, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph. .D directly at the Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Indonesia. The Release ceremony began with an opening by the Master of Ceremony (MC) and continued with remarks and reports by the Head of the 2022 International Mobility Program Team, namely Dodik Setiawan, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Ph.D. In his remarks, he said that FH UII in the last 5 years has had many achievements, especially in the internationalization program. Not only doing research with universities abroad, but also holding joint programs such as credit transfer and double degrees for undergraduate and postgraduate students. This event was also attended by parents from the online delegation of the International Mobility Program.

Then the delegation representatives delivered a farewell welcome represented by Muhammad Sulhan. The names of the delegates in the 2022 International Mobility Program are divided into 2 (two) destinations; 1) Muhammad Sulhan, Muhammad Rhayhan Zidane, Veni Nur Setyaningsih who will carry out the Credit Transfer Program at Youngsan University, South Korea; 2) Wildan Amrillah Amrani, Arief Hasanul Husnan Nasution, Tazkiya Amalia Nasution and Rahadian D. B. Suwartono who will carry out the Undergraduate and Masters Credit Transfer Program at Lobachevsky University Russia. The release of the delegates was carried out by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Abdul Jamil, S.H., M.H. who said that apart from their parents, the delegates were very proud of the UII Faculty of Law and included hopes for the delegates so as not to forget the values ​​that had been conveyed during the preparation for departure.

After the remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Law UII, continued with the delivery of education kits and health kits in the form of honey, vitamins, hand sanitizers and health supplements by the Dean of the Faculty of Law UII accompanied by the Deputy Dean for Resources. Students are also provided with the Koran which is submitted by the Head of the Study Program accompanied by the Secretary of the Study Program. In addition, the head of the Law Department accompanied by the Secretary of the Law Department at the Islamic University of Indonesia was paired with a hat marked with the Faculty of Law UII.

[TAMAN SISWA]; On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, five students from the Faculty of Law at the Universitas Islam Indonesia took part in a conference are held offline and online on a limited basis by implementing health protocols. The five students were Join Degree and Credit Transfer Program students at Youngsan University, Busan, South Korea.

The event was opened with a presentation by the keynote speaker, namely JK Choi, Ph.D., who is also a Researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information. On that occasion, JK Choi brought the theme “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (with DATA Science).” In his explanation, he explained about The Importance of Data (Data Analysis), Progress of DATA Science Research (ILSAN Chemical Industry), Progress of DATA Science Research (GYUNG-NAM Medical Underprivileged Area), Machine Learning (ML) for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Outline of Deep Learning (DL), Progress of Data Science Research (R&D Model for Discovering Future ITEM), History of AI, AI, Application of AI (By Leading Company), to Policy Background for DATA Science (Indonesia).

At the end of the presentation, a question-and-answer session was opened, and responses from participants who took part offline and online. Before being closed by the presenter, there was a response from Dodik Setiawan Nur Heryanto, SH., MH. LL.M. Ph.D. (Secretary of International Undergraduate Study Program in Law Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia), who took part in the online conference, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the speakers for providing such exciting material to be discussed, especially regarding DATA which is so developed in today’s era.

After the presentation of the material by the Keynote Speaker, it was followed by a presentation by five law students from the Faculty of Law, the Universitas Islam Indonesia. First was Yuwan Zaghlul Ismail (Students Join Degree), who presented the theme “Initiate The Establishment Of Personal Information Commission (Comparative Study of South Korean Personal Information Commission and Opportunities of Application in Indonesia”; second, Kurniawan Sustrisno Hadi (Student Join Degree) who presented the theme of “Legal Protection Towards The Personal Data Of Ecommerce’s Customer In Indonesia: Reviewed From Tokopedia Case.”

On this occasion, not only did the joint degree students present their presentations offline, but there were also 3 Credit Transfer Program students, namely: first, Akhiruddin Syahputra Lubis, who presented the theme of “Criminal Sanctions Against Misuse Of Personal Data Through The Printing Of Covid-19 Vaccine”. Certificates”; second, Egita Fira Widya, who presented the theme of “Validity Of Electronic Signature In Sale And Purchase Agreement In Electronic Transaction From The Perspective Of Indonesian Civil Law”; Third, Ayana Sekar Widyaningsih who presented the theme “Legal Position Of Joint Degree Letter Of Three Institution Concerning Guidelines For Implementation Of Certain articles of the ITE Law Related To Article 27 (3) of ITE Law Based Criminal Law Perspective”.

The conference, which started at 10.15 am to 00.30 pm local time that was held in Soemyeon, Busan, South Korea, was also attended by Professor Ji Hyun Park (Head of International Affairs and Language Center Youngsan University).

Wednesday, December 15, 2021, the UII International Law Study Program in collaboration with the Juridical Council of International Program (JCI) held an agenda, namely the International Student Colloquium (ISC) 2021 as a forum for law students to play an active role in improving themselves to become a brave generation, achievement, and character in this era. The agenda raised the theme “The Interface between Law and Technology in the time of Pandemic”, against the backdrop of a significant increase in the use of technology during a pandemic. The agenda began with the opening by reading “Basmalah” together led by the Dean of the Faculty of Law UII, Dr. Abdul Jamil, S.H., M.H. The series of ISC agendas are not just conferences, but there are other agendas, namely the presentation of “call for papers” by participants who have submitted previous papers.

The International Student Colloquium invited outstanding international speakers from South Korea, Hungary, and Indonesia. The material presented was extraordinarily useful and relevant to current technological developments. The first speaker is Prof. Park Jihyun from Youngsan University, South Korea, who talked about how technology can become a necessity for humans in today’s times such as all the conveniences of doing things without the need to meet people in person. For example, we can consult a doctor through the application, but what about the accountability of the data recorded in the application can be discriminated against for its safety. Prof. Dr. Fezer Tamas, Ph.D. delivered the second material. The professor from the School of Law, University of Debrecen, Hungary, discussed data protection and Cybersecurity Law in Hungary. Lastly, the presentation of material by Prof. Dr. Budi Agus Riswandi, SH, M. Hum., talks about the Future of Cyber ​​Law in Indonesia related to the existence of intellectual property rights of each subject.

The implementation of the ISC was received with great enthusiasm from students, considering that there were more than 100 (one hundred) people attending this event and it was followed by questions about the material presented by the speakers. The event was closed with the announcement of a call for paper a championship that was participated by several universities in Indonesia and Malaysia and the awarding of awards to the UII Faculty of Law academic community.

The International Program of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia held a Gala Ceremony for the Juridical Council of International Program (JCI) and the Student Association of International Law (SAIL) on Wednesday, (22/09/2021). The event was carried out in a hybrid manner by combining online and offline systems. The Gala Ceremony was attended by the Secretary of the International Undergraduate Study Program in Law of Faculty of Law of the Universitas Islam Indonesia (IP Faculty of Law) as well as JCI and SAIL board of managements.

The event was held to give appreciation to the previous management of the two organizations, as well as the symbolic handover of the organization’s relay to the new management of the organization. Secretary of the IP Faculty of Law, Dodik Setiawan Nur Heriyanto, S.H., M.H., LLM., Ph.D., in his speech appreciated the continuation of scientific activities that have been held by these two organizations. Dodik Setiawan appreciated JCI for holding several webinars that were relevant to actual legal issues, and to the SAIL that was actively making achievements on competitions at the international level. In addition, Dodik Setiawan also hopes that the next JCI and SAIL management will be able to increase the number of organizational members. Recalling that, human resources are one of the most important things in the implementation of activities.

Dodik Setiawan also reminded the students to keep the spirit in organizing. He also shared how JCI and SAIL have had a long history and outstanding alumni. Dodik Setiawan also shared how he was involved in the founding of JCI and SAIL when he was a student of the IP Faculty of Law. “SAIL is, like my child. JCI is also (like) my own child. So, I hope that all of us can build these organizations to be wider and bring good impact for the academic community of the Faculty of Law of the Universitas Islam Indonesia.”

Dodik Setiawan gave awards to the previous chairman of JCI and SAIL. These awards are given as a form of appreciation from the IP Faculty of Law, for the dedication and hard work of the students in running the organization. The previous chairman of JCI, Akhiruddin Syahputra Lubis, and the President of SAIL, Arief Hasanul Husnan Nasution, received plaques and souvenirs as a symbol of appreciation given by the IP Faculty of Law. In addition, souvenirs were also given for the chairman of JCI for the period 2021-2022, Muhammad Rifaldi Rizmawan. “So that he is not being burned out when carrying out the mandate as the JCI Chairman,” said Dodik Setiawan while symbolically putting a cap on Rifaldi.

According to Rifaldi, the momentum of this Gala Ceremony is the first step for the new JCI management to continue to build good relations and work programs with the faculty. “JCI as a student organization has a significant role in building the ‘horizons’ of IP students.
